The Vietnam War: A Film By Ken Burns & Lynn Novick is coming in September, and we need your help fielding stories from across the country. Join the June 15 webinar at 3pm EST to find out how you can help and what’s driving the initiative.
The film is an immersive narrative, featuring diverse stories from all sides, but it’s also part of America’s story – and we want to hear it told by everyone. This summer PBS is looking for user generated content from anyone who feels a connection to the events surrounding the war: U.S. & Vietnamese Veterans and their family members, peace activists, people who remember the political and cultural climate and anyone else between.
Many of you are already collecting exciting stories, but we’ll soon be launching a campaign to complement your efforts and showcase the stories at a national level on the official film site. We encourage every station to reach out to their communities for input, and there are multiple ways to get involved: Using our new UGC tool, social media posts and submitting content from your existing story hubs.
Don’t worry if you’re not sure how this will all work, tune in to the webinar to find out more about our new tool, how to use it, other ways to get involved and what we can provide every station to help your audiences submit and interact with the stories.
