The Kart Kingdom Ready, Jet Go! Back to Bortron 7 event ran from August 10 - 16, giving users a chance to wear Jet hair and compare constellations and planets. On August 17 - 21, Kart Kingdom users got their own special in-game eclipse glasses to catch the virtual eclipse appearing in the Kart Kingdom sky!
August was “Back to Bortron 7” month in the Games App! The all new Ready Jet Go! movie was supported with tune-in messaging and the release of the “Mission Earth” game.
Be on the lookout for new Daniel Tiger and Sesame Street games launching in the app soon!
The new Station PBS KIDS Video Module has been streamlined for a better user experience on all station websites. The updated station video player now launches with Live TV first, instead of the show spotlight playlist. Please note that the PBS KIDS Digital team will be retiring the old statio video module on September 20th.
Stations who are still using the old module (see below for an example of what the old module looks like) will need to switch to the new module before September 20th for the module to remain active.
• Non-bento (and current Bento 3.0) stations can find documentation for the new Station PBS KIDS Video Module here.
• Bento 2 stations can find documentation for the new Station PBS KIDS Video Module here.
• An updated Bento 3.0 station module will be released this fall. More information to come.
• If you have questions about this module (e.g. implementation, content), please contact Cait Whittaker at email@example.com.
In addition to the station player, the PBS KIDS digital livestream can be found on the national PBS KIDS Video Player and on the PBS KIDS Video App for iOS, Android, and Amazon.
PBS LearningMedia announced the official release of the class roster feature as part of PBS Education’s 2017 Back-to-School campaign. The campaign was centered around a Back-to-School toolkit for teachers that included a year-at-a-glance calendar, links to valuable LearningMedia resources and more.
In content, WGBH, in partnership with NASA, released “Bringing the Universe to America’s Classroom”. This content consists of instructional modules that provide K-12 teachers with high-quality, supplemental digital media resources for teaching about Earth’ systems—from weather phenomena to the development of land and water features.
Resources include videos, images, data visualizations, interactives, and games from WGBH’s signature programs, such as NOVA and PEEP and the Big Wide World, as well as trusted content partners, including NASA and NOAA. Resources are aligned to Next Generation Science Standards, emphasize student engagement with core ideas and practices, and include contextual information to support integration into core curriculum and instruction.
The SpringRoll development team is currently focused on the introduction and refinement of the event spec override functionality released last month. They are also involved in a study with Michigan State University beginning this school year.
