It’s that time of year again and PBS Food is bringing you Christmas cookies, edible gifts, holiday cocktails, latkes and more!

Once again, we’ve compiled our best content for you to reach your social audience this holiday season:

Christmas (December 1-24)

#HolidayHappyHour (Flexible Dates)

Hanukkah (December 12 – December 20)

New Year’s Eve (December 26- January 1)

You can find the suggested language and image names in the PBS Food Holidays Social Media folder. (All assets should be in this folder by 11/30.)

The Great Holiday Cookie Exchange (Embargoed Until 11/30)

What’s your go-to, special cookie around the holidays? As a new experiment in 2017, PBS Food is taking this holiday tradition digital by hosting a Virtual Cookie Exchange. We want your recipes! Recipes can be long-time family traditions or classic cookies with a twist.

The Cookie Exchange hub will be available on the PBS Food site or as an embeddable Bentomatic for your own site. (Submit your Bentomatic request via the Digital Support Portal)

Facebook 360 Recipes

As we did with Halloween and Thanksgiving, PBS Food has created holiday-themed recipe images that will render as 360° on Facebook. Initially, we have a holiday cocktail collection available, with more 360 images available soon.

Cross-posted Videos

PBS Food will be natively uploading any Christmas and holiday-related videos that we have rights to share this holiday season. If you haven’t already whitelisted your station’s Facebook page with PBS Food, this is the perfect opportunity. Likewise, we would love to share any holiday food or event videos that you have to share.

Suggested Social Media + Images

For each holiday and theme above, PBS Food has provided suggested posts and tweets, along with an accompanying image. Check the PBS Food Holidays Social Media folder for more information.

If you already have the PBS Food multi-page Bentomatic assigned, you will find the collection automatically updated throughout the year. To have the Food Bentomatic assigned to your site, submit your request via the Digital Support Portal.

Holiday Hubs

Stations who do not plan to adopt the Food Bentomatic on their site can promote the individual holiday hub pages on PBS Food which highlight similar content pieces that are promoted in the Bentomatic. The hub pages for HanukkahChristmas, and New Year’s Eve feature all of our seasonal content including recipes, videos, planning tips, and more. Furthermore, we encourage any station with holiday content to reach out to the PBS Food team for promotion on these hub pages and/or our social channels.

Holiday Movie Quiz

Many great holiday movies include food scenes that are funny and memorable. How well do you know the iconic food scenes in holiday movies? You can link to this quiz on PBS Food or use our embeddable code to put the quiz on your own site.

If you have any questions about any of this content or would like PBS Food to share your content, please reach out to Matt Schoch or Samantha Elander for more.
