PBS Digital Studios Announces Digital Programming Funding Grant Recipients
Last Updated by
PBS Digital Studios is excited to announce the stations awarded full series funding for their digital-first series.
- KCTS (Seattle, WA) and Oregon Public Broadcasting (Portland, OR)
- Lousiana Public Broadcasting (Baton Rouge, LA)
- Twin Cities PBS (St. Paul, MN)
Multiple departments within PBS reviewed six pilots and measured them against criteria outlined by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and PBS Digital Studios. This included rankings for audience development possibilities, inclusiveness of local and regional voices, editorial themes, longevity potential, and production capabilities.
The Digital Programming Funding Grant was created by PBS Digital Studios, with support from CPB, in order to help strengthen stations’ digital-first production capabilities, and develop capacity to create and distribute compelling digital content.
PBS Digital Studios is happy to provide one-on-one consultation on editorial and show format, social media strategy, channel optimization, audience development, marketing best practices, digital equipment support and more for all member stations.
We hope to meet many of you in person at our Digital Voltage workshop series. These workshops are designed to amplify digital-first production across the PBS system. Personnel from PBS member stations are invited to join hosts from PBS Digital Studios shows, industry producers, YouTube creators and strategists to discuss digital content development, production, channel optimization, marketing and more. Attendees will have the opportunity to discuss their digital-first programming experiences and connect with others within the industry.
