The Vietnam War Assets Now Available

Now Available: long-lead assets to assist with promotion and outreach around The Vietnam War, a film by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick, coming Fall 2017. These promotional assets include: video assets, images and an updated press release, all cleared for station promotional use, are now available on the Source.
Several video assets are available to begin creating excitement and interest around the film:
A two-minute EXTENDED LOOK interstitial piece (:120, Dated and Clean/Cobrand)
A variety of short-form FIRST LOOK teasers (:20-:30, Dated and Clean/Cobrand)
A BUMPER (:10, Dated and Clean/Cobrand)
In the EXTENDED LOOK interstitial (:120), directors Ken Burns and Lynn Novick, and producer Sarah Botstein, discuss the process of making their most ambitious film to date.
A suite of thirteen FIRST LOOK teases (:between :20-:30 in length), feature first-person accounts of a number of the interesting characters in the film. There is also a :10 BUMPER that is simply sound effects and graphics with the title treatment

Nine images showing a diversity of perspectives about the war are also available. Rights information and credit information accompanies each image in The Source.
The national press release and release image are now available on the PBS PressRoom. The release image can be used for editorial and press. Please continue to check PressRoom in the coming weeks for additional up-to-date information, including bios and other assets.
At launch, the preview website will feature all of the short-form video and will offer users opportunities to stay engaged with the film over the coming months. As additional assets become available, we will continue to expand the site.

The interstitial and teases will be rolled out in several different ways:
YouTube - all of the videos will go live simultaneously, in a dedicated playlist.
Facebook and Twitter - clips will be distributed incrementally and strategically.
Starting on Wednesday, December 7, two clips will be published per day, for each succeeding day, at 11a and 5p (ET) on both Facebook and Twitter.
All of the Facebook and YouTube posts will include a link to the PBS.org Vietnam Website, and all the Facebook videos will be enabled for station cross-posting.

Lynn Novick and Sarah Botstein will give a brief overview of the film and we'll discuss plans for publicity, marketing, station engagement, partnerships, development, education, digital, social media, and more.
