PBS Digital Studios is excited to announce the launch of Blank Slate, an educational series about online video production. This 16 episode series is produced by Emmy-nominated Travis Gilmour and Slavik Boyechko, perhaps better known as Video Dads.

The pair previously produced Indie Alaska for Alaska Public Media and, more recently, travelled around the country delivering 12 multi-day production trainings to local PBS stations. Check out past blog posts from Salvik while they were visiting stations for training and from OETA after their visit on these station training

VideoDads.png The growth of digital video has been swift. The average web video viewer now watches 75 minutes of digital content per day, up 60% year-over-year (Robert Kyncl, 2016 CES Keynote). Blank Slate's goal is provide local stations with an introduction to digital video production, so your station can produce quality videos and capitalize on the rapid growth of online video.

Each week PBS Digital Studios will be posting the next video here on the SPI blog every Tuesday. Over the course of this series, we'll discuss production equipment, interview filming technique and online video best practices.

Stations can not only learn more about video production, but after watching this series, formulate ideas on how to leverage local content to highlight station visibility, gain members and community support.
