Nashville Regional Meeting Preview

The regional meetings are designed to bring together future leaders working on the frontlines of public media. The free meetings being produced and lead by PBS Station Services aim to provide an open platform where PBS member station attendees focus their discussions on creating new strategies for tackling the toughest challenges facing stations across the country. The ultimate goal of the discussions being held is to begin to define the future of public media.

Station Services has signed up to produce three-four meetings prior to this year's PBS Annual Meeting. The teams at PBS will be packing their bags and heading to Belmont University, Wedgewood Academic Center on Nashville, TN for the next regional meeting being held February 18-19, 2015. Stations can still register up until the week of the meeting. Register now. If you aren't able to attend but are curious about the sessions you can always follow #TeamPBS across social platforms.

Nashville.pngStation-submitted breakout sessions already pitched include: Online Giving, Managing Social Media Content, MVOD/Plus, Online-Only Content & Series, Master Control Planning, Promoting Your Educational Services, Community Engagement, Local Productions, Engaging the Press, Bento & Other Website Solutions, Underwriting, and more. PBS Station Services will be convening a conference call to solicit additional ideas for sessions.

The first meeting in the series was held in Kansas City, MO in conjunction with KCPT. At the meeting 29 stations from the surrounding KC area were able to attend. The disciplines represented ranged from web staff to development professionals to GMs. One of the biggest eye-opening moments from the meeting occurred when stations were asked to stand if they've never attended a PBS conference. A majority of the room stood up (roughly 80%). Additional details about that meeting will be available this week and added to this blog.
