BTS-olaitan.jpg A recent graduate of Brown University, Olaitan moved down to DC and joined the Digital team at PBS earlier this year. Olaitan brings a vast array of marketing and media experience to PBS, as well as a vibrant artistic side—her favorite hobbies outside the office include painting, and writing songs.

1. Describe your role on the PBS Digital team.
I serve as a Project Coordinator to support Scott Nourse (VP, Product Development) and Karen Baile (VP, Digital Strategy, Operations, and Learning Media). I balance a funky mix of administrative duties—scheduling, invoicing, contract management—with things like research projects and event planning. So, everyday’ s a little different.

2. What’s the best lesson you’ve learned so far working in public media?
That quality work can still be done with half the budget and half the people. It’s amazing to look under the hood, so to speak, and see that our teams are doing and producing so much with so little.

3. What’s your favorite mobile app?
Venmo, hands down. The app makes it super easy to split payments or payback friends for miscellaneous expenses. It’s a staple when my friends and I take cab rides or go out for drinks.

4. What’s the one website you can’t go a day without?
My browser homepage is set to bbc.com/news, so I check that everyday somewhat subconsciously.

5. In your opinion, what are the upcoming digital trends?
Ephemeral messaging really took off with Snapchat, so I’m thinking digital trends along those lines—things that supposedly disappear, especially when there’s a lot of commotion around privacy and data security.

6. What’s one fact about you that would surprise most people?
I was born in England, which I guess is why I love tea?

7. Describe PBS in a word.
Convergent.
